Michael Wolf's amazing buildings

Check out these amazing photos from German photographer Michael Wolf. These images of buildings in Hong Kong haven't had any photoshop work done to them, there are metropolises of high rises that really are this vast!

Architecture of Density” is a fascinating and haunting study of the tremendous density that can be found in most major Chinese cities. Wolf crops the sky and the land out of his shot to create a natural illusion of unlimited size that captures the experience of being in a megacity. “You have no idea how big the building is. It could be 100 stories or 200 stories, it could be a mile long,” says Wolf in an interview with the New Republic.

Timothy Allen

We had a talk from one of our past students Timothy Allen at the College a few weeks ago.

Best known for his work with indigenous people and isolated communities around the world Allen recently spent two years shadowing a BBC film crew during the production of the landmark television series Human Planet.  The series shows the remarkable story of human relationships with the natural world and took Allen to over 40 different countries worldwide. The resulting imagery was published in a best-selling BBC book, formed an exhibition and was used in the programs worldwide branding and publicity.

Have a look at some of the wonderful images below or check out his website.

Celine Marchbank

As part of Hereford Photography Month Hereford College of Arts put on an exhibition from award-winning photographer Celine Marchbank. In 2011 Celine won an award to produce a project based in Herefordshire and she chose to base her work on the River Wye. She says about the project:.

"I looked at Hereford’s local waterway; The River Wye. I spent many months travelling along the river, walking a great deal of it. I discovered it was not as much a hub of activity as I had first imagined, at times it was the complete opposite, spending many lonely days along the riverbank: just me, my camera and a backpack for company."

For anyone who hasn't had the chance to come and see the exhibition from award-winning photographer Celine Marchbank I thought I'd give you a sneak preview below.

Here are some images of the show, and also a link to more info. If you find yourself in that neck of the woods between now and the 22nd November please take a look, also on show are Sophie Gerrard and Dan Haworth-Salter, amongst other great shows & talks.

To see more and find our more info about the project go to Celine's blog.
