We will be running some Saturday Photography workshops during October 2014 for anyone who entered the competition. We will shortly be putting up some information along with dates but for now please read through what we did last year to get a feel for the types of workshops we held.

Saturday Photography Workshops

Alongside the success of the competition we have decided to run workshops for young people who want to explore even more creative techniques within Photography.
Book you place early as there are limited spaces available and places will fill up fast. Please note that there will be a £5 booking fee to secure your place on a workshop.

   Drawing with Light & Basic Studio Portrait Photography Skills Workshop (16 - 19 year olds)
 
Drawing with Light is a creative photography workshop perfect if you wish to discover new techniques and build on your passion for photography. Photography literally means ‘light drawing’, and this creative photography session involves drawing with lights. Using this unique way to create photographs you will use multi-coloured LED lights to produce trails of light which can be photographically recorded. You will create spectacular images in our photography studio using nothing but the tricks of light! Come along and have fun, be creative and learn new exciting ways to capture images and draw with lights.

There will also be an exciting hands on hour dedicated to learning basic studio portrait photography techniques, a really fantastic skill to have for any budding photographer.

Capturing Shadows (9 - 11 year olds) & (12 - 15 year olds)
This fun and 'hands-on' photography workshop is designed for anyone who loves learning new ways to be creative. It will introduce you to creative techniques within photography that you may not have come across before. During this exciting workshop you will create images in our darkroom and will learn how to make photographs without even using a camera. Using a famous printing process called Cyanotype; you will catch an object's shadow on paper, to create stunning cyan blue silhouette images.

Bring along any translucent items that you might wish to use. (Glass bowls, clear plastic objects, fabrics, leaves are all good items to use for this technique)
