What have you been up to since you Graduated from Hereford College of Arts?
I have currently been working on a temporary residency placement at The Antiques Centre in Hereford with the help of vintage store Lizzie May Vintage. With this I will be exhibiting my most recent work ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ and a series of work I did on Rockers and Teds. I will be selling a variety of prints and products in relation to my most recent project.

How long will this residency be for?
It starts the 6/7th October and I hope to continue this until the end of December.
What is your style of work?
It depends on what mood I am in. Currently I have been looking at vintage fashion through the eras particularly the 40s and 50s as I have a more personal interest to them.
Who is your favourite photographer?
I have a wide range of favourites it has to be fashion photographer Tim Walker. His work always has such a whimsical appeal that I find interesting and he has made himself stand out from other fashion photographers which is something I hope to achieve myself.
So you’ve just graduated from Hereford College of Arts with a Degree in Photography – tell us a little about the course.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and it was such an easy transition from doing an Fda in Commercial Photography to the Ba (Top-up) in Photography. I had great tutors that gave me good advice and their personal opinions. They were always there and available when ever I needed help with my work. I have made some great friends through the course as well and I hope that our friendship continues.
Have you done any recent exhibitions or commissions since leaving the Photography Course?
The most recent one I have done so far is being part of the first Vintage Festival in Herefords’ town centre. From doing this small exhibition I have been asked to photograph backstage at a charity event consisting of Vintage Fashion from the 40s and 50s which will be happening in November. As well as this I might potentially be getting my work published in a magazine called Vintage Life.
Have you got any advice for young photographers looking at a career in this field?
My advice would be to send your photographs to any companies you feel would be interested in your work. Definitely enter competitions this will get your name out there and your work noticed. You never know from this you might be asked to produce more work with a similar style and will probably gain some contacts.
